St. Louis police and school officials have apologized to the mother of a 6-year-old boy who was handcuffed and put in a squad car at his elementary school. During Career Day at Washington Montessori School, an officer reportedly was trying to give the kids a teachable moment after the boy told her his nickname instead of his real name. The officer says she was trying to show the kids what happens to people who lie to police. The officer let the boy out of the car when he started crying.
