The Departments of Mental Health and Social Services have ended a lawsuit against them by promising more services for deaf Missourians. The lawsuit was filed two years ago saying state services violate the  Americans With Disabilities Act.

The departments will make more interpreters available, improve mental health treatment for the deaf,  and set up a 24-hour hotline for the deaf.

A fulltime state coordinator and two regional coordinators will be appointed to provide services to the deaf.
