The Springfield City Council has unanimously approved some changes to the city’s ban on smoking. Exemptions have been granted to existing tobacco shops, cigar bars and private clubs. Bingo halls are exempted under certain circumstances, and the ban no longer impacts electronic cigarettes and theatrical performances.Voters will decide June 5 whether to repeal the ban, which was passed by voters in April of last year.
