Just how bad as the Royals season been going so far? After Sunday’s 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays, it was their 10th in a row. The Royals have yet to win at home this season. Adding on to the dismal start was the fact that the Royals can’t catch a break.  Going back to Friday night’s game, the Royals had runners on first and second and nobody out when Eric Hosmer lined one down to first. It was caught by first baseman Adam Lind who stepped on first for the second out and threw to second to triple off Alex Gordon.

The last time the Blue Jays turned a triple play was September 21, 1979 against the New York Yankees and a Missourian on Billy Martin’s roster was apart of that play. Roy Staiger retells what happened on how he took the blame off the shoulders of one of the Yankees’ star players.
