Jermaine Henderson

A cornerstone of the men’s basketball program at the University of Miami-Ohio for the past 19 years is coming to Missouri State University. Jermaine Henderson, a highly-regarded recruiter and motivator, will join Coach Paul Lusk’s staff as an assistant coach at MSU, beginning April 20.

Henderson has spent the last 15 seasons as an assistant with the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks, including the last seven as associate head coach. He began his playing career with Miami in 1993 and has been a mainstay on the Oxford, Ohio, campus ever since.

“I’m certainly thankful for the opportunity Coach Lusk has afforded me,” Henderson said. “Missouri State and the Missouri Valley Conference as a whole have always stood for a standard of excellence in college basketball, and I’m anxious to get there and get started.”

He replaces Steve Woodberry on the Bears’ staff after Woodberry departed for an assistant coaching opportunity at the University of Tulsa earlier this month.
