Defenseman Colin White, scored with 3:02 left, and Logan Couture added a goal for the San Jose Sharks with 17 seconds remaining, but it was too little, too late, as the St. Louis Blues grabbed a 2-1 series lead with a 4-3 win in game three over the Sharks.

The Blues power play continues to be the story of this opening series. Patrik Berglund, Jason Arnott and Alex Steen scored power play goals for the Blues, who went 3 for 4 on the night and are now 5 for 13 in the series against the Sharks, who were second to last in penalty killing during the regular season.

Berglund’s power play goal came 59 seconds into the third period building a 4-1 lead for goalie Brian Elliott who is now 2-0. Elliott stopped 26 shots while Sharks goalie Antii Niemi made just 23 saves.
