Missouri’s Kim English and Missouri State’s Kyle Weems are two of 64 college basketball seniors selected to play in this week’s 59th Annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, the premier showcase event for pro hopefuls.
Since 1953, the PIT has invited 64 of the best college seniors from around the nation to participate in a four-day, 12-game tournament in front of every NBA team. The players are divided into eight teams, each including eight players. Every team plays three games.
English and Weems will be playing together along with Louisville’s Kyle Kuric, Long Beach State’s T.J. Robinson, and Ashton Gibbs (Pittsburgh), Juan Fernandez (Temple), Julian Mavunga (Miami-Ohio) and Ralph Sampson III (Minnesota).
The team will play its first game on Thursday at 8 p.m. (Central) against the Portsmouth Partnership, which includes Tulsa’s Steven Idlet, Cincinnati’s Yancy Gates and VCU’s Bradford Burgess among others.
