An autopsy shows a homeless woman who was forcefully removed from a hospital where she had sought treatment for severe leg pains died in a St. Louis jail cell of blood clots that migrated from her legs to her lungs.

The mother of Anna Brown wants to know who’s responsible for her daughter’s death – a hospital that refused to treat her and turned her over to police, or the police department that dragged the woman from a police car when she said her legs hurt too badly to get out of the car. Brown’s body was found on the floor of a cell about 15 minutes after she was left there.
