North Carolina coach Roy Williams said his number one seeded Tar Heels are preparing for Ohio in Friday’s game at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, as if they will not have the services of point guard Kendall Marshall who had surgery this week on his right (non-shooting) wrist.

ESPN.com is reporting that Marshall had the cast removed from his fractured right wrist on Wednesday and is now wearing a removable splint. Without Marshall, the Tar Heels, who also their lost backup point guard Dexter Strickland to a knee injury in January, will use freshman Stilman White and senior Justin Watts as their point players.

UNC will play an Ohio team that upset 4th seeded Michigan by five, and beat Big East’s top defensive scoring team in South Florida by six.  UNC and Ohio play at 6:47 and Kansas and NC State follow at 9:17.
