Jeff Hafer, a former starter and fan-favorite of the University of Missouri men’s basketball team is teaming up with 23 other basketball players in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest basketball game to be played. The Joplin native, and current JV basketball coach at Joplin High School, is trying to raise money for his home town.

The 110 Hour World Record Basketball Game for Joplin will be played over 4.5 days at the Downtown St. Louis Missouri Athletic Club from 5:00am Wednesday, March 21 until 7:00pm Sunday, March 25.

The event will coincide with the NCAA Regionals being played at the Edward Jones Dome. Every penny raised by the event will be donated to the Joplin Chamber of Commerce for re-distribution to businesses and citizens of Joplin, MO who were devastated by one of the most deadly and most destructive tornado’s in US history last Spring.
