Two more people have pleaded guilty to hate crime charges in the burning of an Independence mobile home belonging to a bi-racial man. Charles Willhelm and David Martin have pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate the man’s civil rights and to violating the Fair Housing Act.
Federal investigators say those two and a third person wanted to scare the victim out of the mobile home park. A couple of days before setting fire to the mobile home they had broken into it and left 15 racially-derogatory slurs and swastikas on the walls.
