Mizzou defends a shot in the 2nd half against Texas.

The Missouri Tigers scored an 81-67 win over the Texas Longhorns in the semifinals at the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City. Mizzou will face Baylor in a rematch of the 2009 tournament finals on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Kim English and Phil Pressey each scored 23 as once again the Tigers showed that they can attack from many angles. The team’s leading scorer, Michael Denmon, was 0 for 10 and finished with just two points.   English got hurt midway through the second when he was cutting through the lane and caught a knee in his quad. English went down grimacing, but did return with a hobble. English says with some treatment, he’ll be fine.

Texas set a program best with 20 offensive rebounds in the Big 12 tournament and English set a new Big 12 tournament record by shooting 90% (9 for 10). Kimmie is 20 for 23 shooting in these first two games and in Mizzou’s four games at the Sprint Center, he is hitting 31 or 40.

The 29th win for the Tigers ties for second most in school history.
