Missouri senior Marcus Denmon has been named a second team All-American by Sporting News. Denmon ranks second in the Big 12, averaging 18 points per game, tied for fifth in shooting percentage at 46.8% and third at the free throw line hitting 88%.

The first team consisted of SN’s National Player of the Year Anthony Davis (Kentucky), and also includes Draymond Green (Michigan State), Isaiah Canaan (Murray State), Thomas Robinson (Kansas) and Jared Sullinger (Ohio State).

Denmon was honored on the second team along with Marquette’s Jae Crowder, Creighton’s Doug McDermott, Kentucky’s Michael Kidd-Gichrist and North Carolina’s Tyler Zeller.

Denmon is also one of 15 finalists for the John Wooden Award.
