Rhode Island’s Billy Baron hit a jumper with 4.5 seconds remaining to cap a URI comeback and give the Rams a 64-62 victory over Saint Louis Saturday afternoon in Atlantic 10 Conference men’s basketball action at the Ryan Center.

The loss halts the Billikens’ (22-6, 10-4 A-10) six-game winning streak. Rhode Island improves to 6-23 and 3-11 in the league with the victory.

Saint Louis never trailed until Baron’s last-second jumper. With the game tied 62-62, Rhode Island had possession and called timeout with 16 seconds remaining. Baron pulled up from mid-range length on the left elbow for the game-winning bucket. A potential game-tying Mike McCall Jr. running jumper as time expired was off the mark.

Sophomore forward Dwayne Evans posted team highs of 14 points and 12 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season. Kwamain Mitchell registered 12 points, while Brian Conklin and Cody Ellis posted 10 apiece. McCall tallied nine points on three treys.

Orion Outerbridge led URI with a game-high 18 points.
