For the second time in a month, some state senators think they have been threatened with physical harm. An email to Senate leader Rob Mayer’s office seems to imply violence is possible, and asked “How is Giffords,” an apparent reference to Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who is recovering from a head wound in a shooting a year ago. The email also mentions Democratic Senators Jolie Justus, Victor Callahan, and Robin Wright Jones, who were among a half-dozen Democratic senators who found stickers on the nameplates at their office entrances last month that appeared to be gun-sight targets. The email to Mayer also mentions fellow Republican Jack Goodman of Mount Vernon. Mayer says police contacted the person who sent the email and he apologized.
