Mizzou basketball guard Marcus Denmon was named Big 12 Player of the Week. His performance on Saturday made this choice a no-brainer.
Denmon scored 29 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including a blistering 6-of-9 mark from three point range. He scored nine consecutive points (a three-point play and two 3-pointers) in a span of 1:12 to bring the Tigers from down eight points to up one with just under a minute remaining as he sparked an 11-0 run by the Tigers to close the game, sealing the win for Mizzou, 74-71 over Kansas.
His 29-point outing was his second-best career total and comes on the heels of recent slump in which Denmon had made just five of his previous 31 three-point attempts.
Mizzou plays at Oklahoma Monday evening at 6 p.m.
