Our largest city has finished 2011 with its highest homicide total in three years. Kansas City Police say the number of multiple killings pushed the total that high — three triple homicides and nine cases in which two people died.
The Kansas City Star quotes police saying domestic violence was behind about half the cases. About one-third of the killings remain open cases.
