James Franklin threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more, Henry Josey had 129 yards rushing and Michael Egnew got involved in the passing game as the Missouri Tigers hand Iowa State a 52-17 loss during Mizzou’s 100th homecoming game on Saturday.

Egnew, T.J. Moe and Wes Kemp each caught touchdown passes with Egnew leading the way on six catches for 105 yards, including a 39 yard bullet from Franklin that split two receivers. Engnew turned around and had open field for 20 yards into the end zone.

Gary Pinkel talked about getting off to a fast start and eliminating dumb mistakes. Mizzou did that by scoring on its first four possessions, much to the delight of a sellout crowd of 71,004.

After building up a 28-3 lead, the offense stumbled a bit with Franklin getting picked off twice, one for a 74 yard touchdown the other way, plus a fumble from receiver Bud Sasser. However, Iowa State could only manage the seven points off the pick.

The Tigers also played the entire game without one penalty, an area of that game that has been very frustrating for Pinkel.

Luke Lambert recovered two fumbles for the defense that limited Iowa State to just 211 yard through the first three quarters until Mizzou let up a bit in the fourth giving up a late touchdown.  Terrell Resonno has a sprained knee and Pinkel said he did not know how his status would be affected this week.
