Senator Rob Mayer says he’s not surprised the Governor didn’t sign his abortion bill into law, but is happy that it became one anyway.

Mayer says it’s common with very controversial issues for the Governor to allow bills to become law without his signature, even though this legislation passed through both chambers with bi-partisan support. But as for why he didn’t, Mayer says in his 11 years in the statehouse he’s learned not to try to guess what other people are thinking.

 This bill places restrictions on late-term abortions. Mayer says it got a lot of support from citizens all over the state
