The Kansas City Royals didn’t go down without a fight as they lose last night to the Detroit Tigers, 6-4.  The Royals would load the bases in the bottom of the ninth, but Billy Butler just couldn’t deliver a hit.

Royals starter Kyle Davies had a rough first inning as he gave up a quick home run that gaveDetroitan early 2-0 lead.  He would give up three more runs over his six innings of work.

Davies takes the loss, and has now dropped his last seven decisions.

Four different Royals, Alex Gordon, Jeff Francoeur, Billy Butler and Melky Cabrera would each drive in one run.

Game three of the four game series is tonight as KC will go with Luke Hochevar on the mound.  The Tigers will start Charlie Furbush.

First pitch is 6:10.
