Senator Kurt Schaefer sponsored a bill that contained several environmental-based legislation. One provision is to keep the State Park’s Earnings Fund from losing money to general revenue. The fund gets money from a few different sources. He says the fund has money from camping fees, donations and even settlement money from Ameren.

He says the money could be used for recovery from flood damage, but it’s more likely that the Department of Natural Resources will get money from the state to repairs. Schaefer says DNR will probably get some money from the State Emergency Management Agency to deal with flooding, but this fund could also help with recovery costs.
