Boonville announced the resignation of football Coach Brad Parsons yesterday. Boonville Athletic Director Chris Shikles said the school will begin the search for Parsons’ replacement immediately and plans to announce that name after its July 20 Board of Education meeting. Parsons went 21-20 in four seasons.
The St. Louis Blue signed forward TJ Oshie to just a one year agreement, just ahead of the free agent deadline. Oshie, a former number one draft pick has missed chunks of two of his first three NHL seasons and has yet to really prove himself.
A medical examination determined that Randy, Macho Man, Savage died of heart disease. The 58 year old former star wrestler lost consciousness while driving and struck a tree back on May 20th. Before he turned to wrestling, the Macho Man was a ball player, spending a brief time in the Cardinals organization. He played in 1971 and 1972 in Rookie Ball for the Cardinals and hit .286, .274. Those were his best years as he never went above High A ball.
