Senators Blunt, McCaskill and John Hoeven of North Dakota are launching an effort to revise the flood control. The Missouri River Working Group will have its first meeting the week of July 11. McCaskill says when figuring out how to fix the master manual, there are two questions that need an answer.

McCaskill says it’s important to fix the flaws in the current flood plan, but doesn’t want to overreact. Blunt says that more rain will cause more flooding, but rain is necessary to make sure crops don’t dry out.

The group will begin meeting the week of July eleventh. Both Blunt and McCaskill say the Corps of Engineers is doing a fine job now, but it’s their plan that needs work.
