A former student at the University of Central Missouri has pleaded guilty to a charge that he was part of a computer hacking scheme while he was a student in Warrensburg. Daniel Fowler of Kansas City admits he and others got into the university’s computer network and download information about faculty, students, alumni, and staff so they could change grades and transfer money to their student accounts. The group also put a computer virus into the UCM system. He’ll be sentenced later and could get as much up to 15 years in prison.
