Details of Mizzou basketball headh coach Frank Haith’s contract were made public by the University on Monday. Haith’s guaranteed annual compensation begins at $1.5 million in the first year with a base salary of $350,000 and built in with incentives.

Haith’s $1.6 million average annual compensation, including deferred payments, would rank fifth, just ahead of Kansas State coach Frank Martin at $1.55 million in the 10 team, Big 12 conference.

The biggest difference is the buyout in the first three years should Haith leave or were to be let go by Mizzou. The buyout starts at $1.2 million after one year and gradually decreases to $500,000 by year four. Anderson’s contract capped the buyout penalty at $550,000, an amount equal to two years of his base salary.

That goes the other way, should Mizzou fire Haith.
