The small town of Craig, in northwest Missouri, has been ordered evacuated by noon tomorrow.  The town of about 280 people is threatened by the Missouri River.  A city spokesman says the evacuation must begin now so the town’s elderly population can be moved before it’s too late.

The river has cut off access to Nebraska from Missouri by bridge.  Two highways, US159 in Holt County and US136 in Atchison County, to bridges in northwest Missouri have been blocked indefinitely by high water. The bridges connect Missouri with Rulo and Brownsville, Nebraska.

The Highway 36 bridge from St. Joseph into Kansas remains open. I-29 also is blocked by high water in northwest Missouri and for several miles into Iowa.  Traffic is being diverted to I-35.
