State Senator Brian Nieves is being sued by a political consultant who accuses him of assault, emotional distress, and false imprisonment, The lawsuit has been filed by Shawn Bell, who worked for the man Nieves beat in the senate election last year. Nieves lives in Franklin County.
Bell says Nieves attacked him the day after the August primary last year.
