A man who robbed Sun Security Bank in Weaubleau in southwest Missouri, this morning found sheriff’s deputies waiting for him when he returned to his car.

Hickory County sheriff Ray Tipton says it all started when a farmer reported finding a suspicious car by some railroad tracks. So when the bank called about a robbery, deputies checked out the crime scene, while an investigator checked out the car.

Tipton says Edward Cooke then came running from some trees to find the officers standing by his car. They searched him and found a bag of money from the bank.

Cooke, who’s 59, was on probation for two previous bank robberies. He admitted to the robbery after he was arrested.
