Kansas City rookie Danny Duffy picked up his first major league at Oakland in front of over 100 friends and family members as the Royals won the fourth time in five games, a 7-4 final over A’s Trevor Cahill.

Duffy pitched six innings allowing four hits and four walks, but surrended just two runs. He had plenty of offensive support. Alcides Escobar went 3 for 5 with two RBIs from the nine spot in the order and Billy Butler drove in two runs.

Duffy was obviously thrilled with the win. “It was awesome. I couldn’t pick a better night to get a win,” said Duffy. “It’s a milestone, but at the same time I’m ready to finish out the season strong. We’ve got a lot of baseball left and we’re trying to get into the playoffs.”
