Former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Woody Williams is now co-owner of the Hannibal Cavemen, teaming up with another former big leaguer Ryan Klesko and two others. The previous organization, Hannibal Baseball Investment Group, lacked the cash and capital to sustain the team and had defaulted on legal obligations.
The new, Hanniball Cavemen Baseball group, should bring some new excitement to the area for their ball club that plays in the Prospect League. Klesko has a foundation called the Blue Ryno Foundation that has ties to Hannibal and with Woody’s popularity from his days in St. Louis, their star power should help.
