The former chaplain at the Springfield federal medical center is charged with helping a mob leader hide a valuable stradivarius violin so the federal government could not sell it.
Father Eugene Klein had been the Catholic chaplain at the medical center for seven years. The federal indictment says he helped imprisoned Chicago mob figure Frank Calabrese defraud the federal government while Calabrese as at the medical center. Calabrese is in prison for his part in 13 mob murders.
