A circuit judge in St. Louis is considering whether a single hair found at a murder scene is enough to free a man who’s been in prison for 29 years.

Rodney Lee Lincoln, 66, has maintained his innocence throughout all those years.

DNA tests show the hair was not his.  The St. Louis prosecutor’s office which reopened the case because it had been processed before DNA was used in legal cases is opposing Lincoln’s release.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that The Innocence Project, which has been working on Lincoln’s case for several years, maintains the hair is enough to free Lincoln.
