Wednesday  morning leaders at MODOT  are expected to vote on whether or not to start a five-year plan that will close and consolidate buildings and – in general – cut expenses to help cover highway and bridge costs down the road.  Money to MODOT is being cut nearly in half in the coming years.

One district office that will be closing is the one  in Joplin.  District Engineer Becky Baltz is reassuring people hit by the tornado that crews will be still be there.

Baltz says none of the state roads were damaged by the E-F-5 tornado.
