The St. Louis Blues announced the club has re-signed forward Patrik Berglund to a two-year contract extension. The deal will be worth $4.5 million over the length of the agreement. The 22 year old center finished his third season with the Blues in 2010-11 setting career highs in games played (81), points (52), goals (22) and assists (30) and led the team with a career best eight power play goals.

The Sweden native also earned the Silver Medal with Team Sweden and was named to the tournament All-Star Team at the 2011 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia. Berglund dressed in nine games and ranked second among all skaters in points (10), goals (8) and plus/minus (+7).

The 6’4”, 218-pound forward has appeared in 228 games for the Blues during his three-year NHL career accumulating 125 points including 56 goals and 69 assists.
