The Mizzou baseball team has earned the No. 8 overall seed at next week’s Big 12 Tournament and it will square off against top-seeded Texas on Wednesday (May 25) at 12:30 p.m. in Oklahoma City at Bricktown Ballpark. The Tigers are making their ninth straight Big 12 Tournament appearance and will face Texas in the opening round for the second consecutive season as Mizzou topped the Longhorns, 7-3, in the tournament opener for both teams in 2010.

The Tigers are in the first of two divisions and joining the Tigers and Longhorns in Division One are fourth-seeded Oklahoma State and fifth-seeded Baylor. Should the Tigers defeat Texas on Wednesday, they will advance to play the winner of the Oklahoma State-Baylor game at 4 p.m. on Thursday. Should they lose to Texas on Wednesday, the Tigers will play the loser of the Oklahoma State-Baylor game at 9 a.m. on Thursday.

The winner of Division One will face the winner of Division Two in the Big 12 Championship Tournament game on Sunday (May 29) at 1 p.m. Division Two of the bracket is comprised of second-seeded Texas A&M, third-seeded Oklahoma, sixth-seeded Kansas State and seventh-seeded Texas Tech. Nebraska and Kansas did not qualify for the eight-team tournament.
