For the next four days, Missouri and five other states will be checking to see how ready they are to deal with a major earthquake in the New Madrid Fault.
Originally there were eight states taking part but Alabama and Mississippi are dealing with real disasters — floods and tornadoes … so they have dropped out.
The six-day exercise will test response abilities and communications capability with federal, state, and local officials.
