Eric Hosmer led off the second inning with his second major league homer in as many games and finished with three hits as the Royals beat the New York Yankess 11-5, winning their first series in the Bronx since 1999.

After Hosmer’s lead off homer off Ivan Nova, the Royals took advantage of two Yankee errors and a passed ball to jump out to a 6-0 lead. The Royals were up 8-0 when New York put up four runs in the fifth inning off Sean O’Sullivan, but he went into the 7th inning for his second win of the season.

Billy Butler went 4 for 6 with two RBIs as Hosmer, Melky Cabrera and Alcides Escobar all drove in two runs for the Royals. Cabrera finished 3 for 12 against his former team.
