Matt Holliday homered and Jaime Garcia helped himself with an RBI single, it was all a part of a five run second inning as the Cardinals won 9-1 Thursday afternoon at Wrigley Field.

Garcia pitched seven innings and gave up just one run to lower his ERA to 1.89 and move to 5-0. The Cardinals are up 1.5 games on the Reds where the Cardinals head to Cincinnati for a weekend series.

Jon Jay was for 3 for 6 with three RBIs hitting out of the lead off spot. Colby Rasmus and Yadier Molina also added three hits apiece.
