Lance Berkman’s big return to Houston helped the Cardinals right fielder get named the National League Player of the Week. Berkman has already won the award twice this season.

Berkman hit .458 (11-for-24) in six games last week, tying for the second-highest average in the National League. He also had a Major League-high 20 total bases and slugged .833, the second-highest mark in the NL during that time. He finished the week with two home runs, three doubles and eight RBIs.

Berkman continued his hot streak into this week with a four-RBI performance including a three run homer in Monday night’s loss to Florida.
