The Royals fell below .500 and dropped to 4 1/2 games behind the Indians after the Tribe swept the Royals with an 8-2 win on Thursday night.

The trip included being swept in a three-game series at Texas and now Cleveland; in the six games the Royals were outscored, 46-22, and outhomered, 17-8.

Kyle Davies lasted just 3.1 innings and was charged with all eight runs. He falls to 1-3, his ERA a hefty 7.98. Davies was lit up for four home runs. Davies had allowed just one home run all season until Shin-Soo Choo drove a ball over the center-field wall in the first inning. Carlos Santana followed immediately with an even longer blast, 421 feet to right field.

Grady Sizemore led off the third inning with a drive into the center-field bullpen and Shelley Duncan led off the fourth with another homer, into the left-field seats.
