The Cleveland Indians won their eighth straight game at home, launching five home runs including three off Royals starter Luke Hochevar in a 9-4 loss for Kansas City. It looks like the Royals are starting to play like the team we expected at the start of the season.  The loss dropped the Royals 2.5 games behind Cleveland and they are just one game over .500. This was the fourth loss in a row and seventh in the last nine for the Royals.

Hochevar dropped to 2-3 and his ERA shot up to 5.68 after he gave up six runs in 6.1 innings on 11 hits. It was a 4-3 game in the bottom of the seventh, when the Indians scored three. Hochevar got charged with two more runs after he gave up singles around a strikeout.

Louis Coleman was greeted by Shin Soo-Choo who hit a three run homer. Grady Sizemore added a two run shot in the eighth for good measure.

Melky Cabrera went 3 for 4 and drove in two runs and Alex Gordon went 1 for 4 to extend his hitting streak to 19 games.
