Kyle Lohse was stellar in a two-hit shutout to help the St. Louis Cardinals take the three-game series against the Washington Nationals with a 5-0 win. Lohse (3-1) walked just two batters and struck out six for the Cardinals, who won the second game of a doubleheader against Washington on Wednesday to break a two-game losing streak. Alongside the impressive pitching performance, Matt Holliday and Albert Pujols each had two-run homers. Jayson Werth and Mike Morse had the only hits for Washington, which has lost two straight since a four-game winning streak. Tom Gorzelanny (0-2) went five innings in the loss, allowing two hits, two runs and four walks.
