The Legislative Black Caucus wants Governor Nixon to veto a workplace discrimination bill the legislature has sent him. Backers of the bill say they want to roll back court decisions that they think have gone beyond the intentions of the 1964 federal civil rights law and its 1992 amendment.

The caucus says the legislation would roll back decades of progress.

If the governor vetoes the bill, the legislature would have time to try for an override before the session ends.
