A former city prosecutor in Jefferson County is suing the county and its chief executive because he was fired earlier this year.
Former municipal prosecutor Dan James says he was fired because he’s a Democrat. He says County Executive Ken Waller, a Republican, fired him for political reasons.
James had been a county municipal court prosecutor for more than four years and is thinking about running for circuit judge next year.
