Missouri Pecan farmers are watching profits climb as the Chinese acquire a taste for American nuts.

The U-S Department of Agricultuer says for generations, pecan prices have fallen with high-yield crops and soared with lousy ones. But in recent years, they’ve only continued to rise.

Their explanation: Five years ago, China bought hardly any pecans. In 2009, China bought one-quarter of the U.S. crop … and they say that demand is still climbing.
