The Cardinals placed both Bryan Augenstein and Brian Tallet on the 15-day disabled list after they suffered injuries in Tuesday night’s game against the D-backs.
Augenstein suffered a strained right groin during Tuesday’s game, while Tallet has a fracture in his right hand…his non-throwing hand. Tallet was injured when he and Stephen Drew collided on a play at first base.
Tallet will have a pin inserted into his wrist and will be out anywhere from four to six weeks according to GM John Mozeliak. They will know more on Augenstein in the coming days.
Fernando Salas and Eduardo Sanchez have been called up from Triple-A Memphis to take their places.
