Otto Porter, a 6’8” forward from Sikeston, Missouri, has verbally committed to Georgetown according to various sources.

Gabe DeArmond of PowerMizzou.com was able to confirm that with me late Tuesday morning. Gabe had spoken with Porter’s coach, Kenyon Wright, at Scott County Central earlier in the day and he was told by Wright that Porter did not commit to Georgetown, but then flip flopped on that answer for reasons unknown.

Its unfortunate that this missed opportunity for another top Missouri recruit is going to fall on the shoulders of new coach Frank Haith even though it would be wise for those fans critical of this hire to realize Haith didn’t have much of a say in being able to sway Porter’s decision.

Porter committed after an official visit to Georgetown, and was set to visit Kansas this upcoming weekend, which will now likely be cancelled.
