A medical examiner’s report says a woman whose body was found in Bridgeton a month ago died of a heroin overdose. The body of Valerie Butler was found about three weeks after she was seen leaving a tavern with two men. One of the men is charged with abandoning a corpse.
In a separate incident, two people are charged with leaving the body of a dead woman behind an Urgent Care in Arnold last year. Jefferson County prosecutors say Zachary Francis Meyer, of Imperial, and Jennifer Ann Brooks, of Arnold, abandoned a corpse. Meyer is accused of injecting Jessica Eberhardt, of High Ridge, with heroin, from which she died.
