Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia allowed four hits and struck out a career high nine batters in a 2-0 complete-game win over the visiting San Diego Padres in the series finale on Sunday at Busch Stadium.  Garcia walked two batters in a duel with Padres right-hander Dustin Moseley, who allowed one unearned run on four hits in seven innings.

Lance Berkman led off the fifth inning with a single, moved up on a wild pitch and groundout and scored on a RBI single from Yadier Molina.

San Diego threatened in the sixth with the bases loaded when Ryan Ludwick lined into an inning-ending double play to Cardinals rookie third baseman Daniel Descalso, who snared the liner and tagged the base for the third out.

The Cardinals added a run in the eighth off reliever Luke Gregerson. Skip Schumaker led off with a single and scored on a RBI single by Ryan Theriot.
