The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation wants to force some former officials of the failed Gateway Bank in St. Louis to cooperate with FDIC investigators. The government closed Gateway in November, 2009 and paid out more than $9 million dollars to insured depositors.

The agency is asking for a court order telling two former bank officials to produce information. One of the things the FDIC is investigating is whether some assets were wrongfully transferred before the bank was closed.
